Album Notes & Community Reviews

Updating her classic bossa nova sound for the new decade, 'Astrud Gilberto Now' integrates the singer's delicate, whisper-soft vocals with the rhythmic complexities of samba soul. The arrangements feature prominent funk-inflected basslines, electric piano, and lush strings, placing her seamlessly into a contemporary MPB context. It is a stylish, impeccably produced pivot that highlighted her versatility beyond the sixties jazz-pop landscape.
