Nice 'n' Greasy

Album Notes & Community Reviews

The fifth studio release by Vincent Crane's revolving-door ensemble sees the group shifting further away from their heavy progressive origins toward a funk-inflected, soul-blues hybrid. Featuring vocalist Chris Farlowe, the record attempts to inject a distinct R&B flavor into the band's trademark Hammond organ-driven sound, resulting in looser, groove-oriented arrangements. The stylistic pivot divided the band's core fanbase and ultimately marked the final studio output before their initial mid-70s dissolution.
