Album Notes & Community Reviews

Marking a pivotal turning point in their career, 'Black Waltz' saw the Swedish ensemble firmly establish their theatrical, avant-garde image, highlighted by frontman Johannes Eckerström's debut of his signature clown makeup. Musically, the album sheds some of their early melodeath constraints to incorporate chugging groove metal and industrial elements, creating a dark, circus-like atmosphere.
