Only Dust Remains

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Marking a creative evolution after her acclaimed autobiographical trilogy, 'Only Dust Remains' sees Backxwash expanding her sound by trading industrial and horrorcore dissonance for more restrained synths, hip-hop beats, and ambient textures. The album's songwriting remains intensely personal and politically charged, exploring themes of mortality, institutional condemnation, and the struggle between personal pain and global trauma. This Polaris Music Prize-longlisted record is noted for its powerful, uncompromising performance and a metamorphosed sound that brings its furious and honest message into sharper focus.
