Everyone Is Everybody Else
by Barclay James Harvest
As their debut for the Polydor label, 'Everyone Is Everybody Else' marked a sonic shift, stripping away the orchestral arrangements of prior works for a more direct, rock-oriented sound. The production from Rodger Bain, known for his work with Black Sabbath, added a heavier edge and cleaner finish, which created some tension with the band but resulted in a more focused and accessible progressive rock album with strong melodic songwriting. Anthemic tracks like "Child of the Universe" and "For No One" became radio staples, expanding the band's audience and solidifying the album as a fan favorite.
