Acting as his debut release for the influential Planet Mu imprint, 'On the Threshold' is a dense, deeply researched electronic album from Anthoney J Hart. The album maps his signature 'modernist hardcore' style onto a spartan framework of UK bass, IDM, and raw techstep growls. The tracks utilize disembodied vocal samples and angular, horizontal percussion layers to replicate the paranoia and electricity of London's late-90s underground club spaces.
