Album Notes & Community Reviews
With 'Hammerheart', Quorthon fully shed Bathory's lo-fi black metal origins to effectively invent the grandiose Viking metal genre. The album utilizes acoustic guitars, choirs, and slow, heavy doom metal riffing to craft deeply passionate, anthemic epics celebrating Norse mythology and pagan folklore.
