Marking a complete stylistic reversal from the sweeping Viking metal epics of Quorthon's recent output, 'Requiem' is a shockingly raw, stripped-down assault of retro thrash metal. The album intentionally strips away all choirs, acoustic guitars, and synthesizers, delivering a violently aggressive, bone-dry sound that polarized their existing fanbase.
