Helmed by the snarling Tex Perkins, the Australian supergroup waded deep into whiskey-soaked, swampy blues rock. The grimy, slide-guitar-driven arrangements and intensely cynical, vulgar narratives perfectly capture a dangerous, abrasive barroom swagger that influenced the emerging alternative garage rock scene.
