Marking a momentous and unexpected return, 'Engram' was the first full-length album from the pioneering Finnish band in fourteen years, and their first to return to a pure black metal style since 1993's 'Drawing Down the Moon'. After a long period dedicated to dark ambient and electronic projects, mainman Nuclear Holocausto Vengeance resurrected the band's raw and primitive sound. The album combines the primal, ritualistic aggression of their early work with atmospheric and ambient undertones, solidifying its status as a significant comeback in the history of the genre.
