Album Notes & Community Reviews
The New Orleans-based singer-songwriter makes an incredibly striking debut, effortlessly blending the raw, driving energy of punk rock with deeply authentic Southern blues. 'Benjamin Booker' features remarkably raspy, profoundly passionate vocal performances delivered over fuzzy, intensely rhythmic electric guitar playing and frantic drumming. The resulting album is a wonderfully energetic, beautifully unpolished, and fiercely authentic revival of the punk-blues aesthetic.
