Phantom Brickworks

Stephen Wilkinson drastically pivots away from the bright folktronica and funk of his previous work for a collection of completely beatless, improvised ambient pieces. Inspired by the decaying industrial architecture of the UK, the album utilizes heavily degraded tape loops of piano and synthesizer to create ghostly, atmospheric soundscapes. It functions as a deeply melancholic, impressionistic meditation on physical and historical erosion.
