Be a Brother

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Reconvening after the departure of their iconic frontwoman Janis Joplin, the San Francisco stalwarts soldiered on with a rotating cast of lead vocalists, including Nick Gravenites. The record maintains the gritty, loose blues-rock and psychedelic jamming that originally established their reputation in the Haight-Ashbury scene. While struggling to escape Joplin's massive shadow, the album showcases the instrumental core that fueled their earliest successes.
