Album Notes & Community Reviews
A critically celebrated masterpiece of late-eighties collegiate indie rock, bursting with intricate power pop hooks and jangle pop melodies. The Boston-based quartet delivered remarkably tight songwriting characterized by wry, intellectual lyricism and complex vocal harmonies. Despite immense critical acclaim, the album failed to secure mainstream crossover success before their eventual signing with Epic Records[cite: 1].
