Album Notes & Community Reviews

Positioned as the spiritual sequel to his seminal 2010 breakout mixtape, the Mississippi rapper-producer aims for a highly polished, commercially viable iteration of Southern hip-hop. The album frequently steps away from his signature self-produced soul samples, enlisting outside beatmakers to provide contemporary trap and R&B frameworks. While boasting strong lyricism, the project was heavily criticized for lacking his usual organic musical depth.
