Double Infinity

Recorded as a core trio following the departure of bassist Max Oleartchik, Big Thief's 'Double Infinity' was captured live with numerous collaborators, fostering a communal and expansive studio atmosphere. [4, 8, 9] The album's production, helmed by Dom Monks, embraces textural experimentation, with arrangements blending the band's folk-rock core with elements of trance, drone, and psychedelia, featuring contributions from ambient pioneer Laraaji. [1, 2, 3] This more collaborative songwriting approach yields tracks exploring concepts of the infinite, time, and memory, sometimes through detailed narratives and other times through minimal, repetitive lyrical structures.
