Album Notes & Community Reviews

The pioneering avant-garde trumpeter and educator constructed an incredibly sparse, fiercely intense session for the Italian Soul Note label. 'Thoughts' thrives on silence and suspenseful, atonal improvisation, showcasing Dixon's unique approach to breath control and lower-register brass techniques. The album is a masterclass in deeply atmospheric, intellectual free jazz expression.
