Album Notes & Community Reviews

Created upon the singer-songwriter's return to his native New York from California, this project is heavily imbued with urban melancholy and cinematic storytelling. It features ambitious, stylistically diverse compositions, including the cinematic epic 'New York State of Mind' and the frantic sci-fi rocker 'Miami 2017'. The recording marked the first time Joel utilized his own touring band in the studio, giving the material a muscular, cohesive backbone.
