Album Notes & Community Reviews

Partnering entirely with producer Blockhead, the fiercely independent New York rapper delivers an incredibly dense, lyrically acrobatic masterpiece. Blockhead's idiosyncratic, dusty sampling provides a comparatively upbeat counterpart to Woods's typically paranoid, cynical storytelling concerning gentrification, racial history, and personal failure. It stands as a pinnacle achievement within the 2010s abstract hip-hop underground.
