Album Notes & Community Reviews
Representing their legendary, raw 2017 cassette box-set and lathe-cut single release, 'Dissimulate' is a defining statement of Birth (Defects)' abrasive underground aesthetic. Tracked during a dense period of recording sessions between late 2014 and early 2017, the tracks blend screeching, feedback-heavy noise rock with grueling, Cherubs-style grunge riffs and experimental noise. It acts as an uncompromising and claustrophobic snapshot of the Baltimore outfit's unhinged and misanthropic early energy.
