Kinetic

Album Notes & Community Reviews

'Kinetic' expands upon Black Flower's established foundation of Ethio-jazz and psychedelic funk, incorporating a broader palette of intricate progressive arrangements and global folk traditions. The album operates with an urgent, kinetic philosophy of forward motion, using its fusion of styles—from polyrhythmic grooves and Middle-Eastern flavors to the distinct vocal contributions of collaborator Meskerem Mees—as a dynamic statement on adaptation and liberation. This synthesis of disparate influences creates a culturally resonant sound that is both exploratory and cohesive.
