Album Notes & Community Reviews

The Detroit producer and MC's seventh studio album is an incredibly rich, highly musical blend of conscious hip-hop and live neo-soul instrumentation. Shifting away from heavy sample chops, the record relies extensively on live drum breaks, winding basslines, and deeply socially aware lyricism tackling systemic racism and modern political anxiety. It was highly praised for its immaculate, deeply funky production value.
