Black Milk is the stage name of Curtis Cross, a highly respected rapper and record producer from Detroit, Michigan. Initially gaining notice for his work with local legends *Slum Village*, he quickly established a solo career with albums like 'Popular Demand' and 'Tronic'. His production, deeply influenced by *J Dilla*, often blends gritty, soulful samples with electronic and psychedelic elements. He is known for his musical evolution, increasingly incorporating live instrumentation with his band, Nat Turner, and exploring a wide range of sounds. A key figure in the Detroit hip-hop scene, he has released music on labels like #Fat Beats# and #Third Man Records# and is part of the supergroup *Random Axe* with *Sean Price* and *Guilty Simpson*.
