Album Notes & Community Reviews
Featuring vocalist David Clayton-Thomas returning to front a heavily revamped lineup, 'Nuclear Blues' was a significant stylistic departure for the legendary horn-rock ensemble. The album attempts to modernize their sound with dense jazz-funk instrumentation and complex fusion arrangements, occasionally abandoning their classic R&B roots entirely. The record failed to rejuvenate their commercial standing and preceded their eventual disbandment.
