Christmas in the Heart

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Released as a charity album to benefit Feeding America, this unexpected project finds the legendary folk songwriter tackling a collection of traditional holiday standards. His gravelly, thoroughly ravaged late-career voice provides a bizarre, fascinating contrast to the lush, traditional choral and orchestral arrangements. While initially baffling to critics, it has earned a fond, deeply eccentric reputation within his discography.
