Album Notes & Community Reviews

Boogie Down Productions dragged hip-hop out of the parks and into the streets, laying the uncompromising, aggressive foundation for both conscious and gangsta rap. KRS-One's booming, confrontational lyricism details urban survival and crime over raw, minimalistic boom-bap beats built from heavy James Brown samples and dancehall influences. It is an intensely gritty, foundational text of the genre.
