Album Notes & Community Reviews

Recorded on the West Coast, 'Structurally Sound' features the fiercely independent tenor saxophonist backed by an unusually restrained quintet. The arrangements integrate subtle cool jazz influences, providing a surprisingly melodic and structured contrast to Ervin's typically volcanic improvisational flights. The session highlights his versatility and deep emotional resonance across a variety of tempos and moods.
