Album Notes & Community Reviews

Stepping out from their role as the Stax house band, the instrumental quartet delivers a tight, effortlessly funky set of originals and pop covers. 'Doin' Our Thing' balances Booker T. Jones' simmering Hammond organ lines with the unmistakable, razor-sharp guitar telepathy of Steve Cropper. The album underscores their reputation as the most potent instrumental groove machine in American rhythm and blues.
