Operating under a pseudonym, the San Francisco-based musician shocked the extreme metal underground with this unprecedented double album. Botanist completely eschews guitars, performing frantic, incredibly dense black metal utilizing only a heavily distorted hammered dulcimer, drum kit, and whispered vocals centered around militant environmentalism.
