Album Notes & Community Reviews

Before evolving into the highly influential heavy metal act Mercyful Fate, Danish musicians Hank Shermann and King Diamond cut their teeth in the punk-metal crossover outfit Brats. Their sole full-length release, '1980', is a raw, energetic collision of aggressive punk rock attitudes and burgeoning heavy metal riffing. The album is a vital historical document for fans tracing the origins of Scandinavian extreme metal.
