T R A P S O U L

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Completely defining the commercial intersection of moody R&B and southern hip-hop production, this breakthrough debut seamlessly blends singing and rapping. 'T R A P S O U L' relies on woozy, nocturnal synthesizer pads, heavy 808 bass lines, and emotionally complex, sensual lyricism regarding modern relationships. Its massive cultural footprint immediately established a highly imitated sonic template for the decade's mainstream urban music.
