Album Notes & Community Reviews

The McCall persona belonged to advertising man Bill Fries, whose songs with Chip Davis filled the album, including the title track's account of a treacherous Colorado mountain pass. Its closing song, 'Convoy', spent six weeks atop the country chart and a week at number one on the Hot 100, igniting the citizens band radio craze and inspiring Sam Peckinpah's film of the same name.
