Album Notes & Community Reviews

Released alongside a book of the same name, the Tropicália master's late-90s effort is a breathtakingly dense, highly intellectual celebration of Bahian culture. The album brilliantly orchestrates complex Afro-Brazilian percussion arrangements alongside sweeping strings and lush horn sections, cementing his legacy as one of MPB's most sophisticated visionaries.
