Album Notes & Community Reviews

Propelled by the massive, ubiquitous success of the single 'Short Skirt/Long Jacket', 'Comfort Eagle' perfectly distilled the Sacramento band's highly idiosyncratic sound. The album is anchored by John McCrea's instantly recognizable deadpan vocal delivery, mariachi-style trumpet flourishes, and bouncy funk-rock basslines. The razor-sharp, satirical songwriting pokes holes in consumer culture, music industry excess, and romantic dysfunction.
