Biography
Cake is an American alternative rock band from Sacramento, formed in 1991 by John McCrea and Vince DiFiore, the two constants through every lineup. Known for McCrea's deadpan, sarcastic delivery and a spare sound drawing on country, mariachi, funk and hip hop, they broke through with 'Fashion Nugget' (1996) and 'The Distance', and later scored with 'Short Skirt/Long Jacket' from 'Comfort Eagle' (2001).
