The Ghost Trade

Formed from the remnants of This Heat, Camberwell Now expanded their predecessor's avant-prog complexity with heavily processed tape loops and early digital sampling. The album is incredibly dense and rhythmic, utilizing deeply ominous, nocturnal soundscapes to support Charles Hayward's abstract, politically charged vocals. It is a highly surreal, experimental touchstone that profoundly predicted the development of post-rock.
