Album Notes & Community Reviews

Effectively naming and defining an entire subgenre with its title, 'Epicus Doomicus Metallicus' is a foundational slab of crushing, operatic doom metal. The Swedish band eschewed the prevailing speed of mid-80s thrash for glacially slow, heavily downtuned Sabbath-style riffs and dramatic, soaring vocals. It is a remarkably dark, melodic journey into occult and fantasy themes.
