Cannonball's Sharpshooters

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Tracked right before his historically significant tenure with the Miles Davis Sextet, this dynamic session features the alto saxophonist leading a highly potent quintet alongside his brother, cornetist Nat Adderley. 'Cannonball's Sharpshooters' perfectly encapsulates the jubilant, blues-drenched aesthetic that would become the siblings' enduring trademark. The fiercely swinging, highly accessible performances stand as a definitive milestone in the early development of the hard bop idiom.
