Album Notes & Community Reviews
Teaming up with mainstream producer Ted Templeman, Captain Beefheart retained his wonderfully surreal edge while embracing a surprisingly accessible, heavily rhythmic blues-rock strut. 'Clear Spot' is an incredibly passionate, fiercely playful rock record, balancing delightfully dark, nocturnal swamp-blues riffs with beautifully raw, surprisingly melancholic grooves.
