Album Notes & Community Reviews
Slowing down the manic, polyrhythmic chaos of his earlier work, Captain Beefheart delivered a wonderfully raw, surprisingly accessible exploration of avant-garde blues. 'The Spotlight Kid' is an incredibly passionate, fiercely eclectic blues-rock record, pairing delightfully playful, highly surreal poetry with wonderfully quirky, distinctly nocturnal, and deeply rebellious swagger.
