Teens of Denial

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Marking Car Seat Headrest's transition from lo-fi solo work to a full-band studio effort, 'Teens of Denial' was produced by Steve Fisk and features a dynamic, high-fidelity indie-rock sound with ambitious arrangements. Songwriter Will Toledo frames the album as a bildungsroman, exploring post-collegiate disillusionment, anxiety, and self-deprecation through densely layered, witty, and narrative-driven lyrics. The album's initial physical release was famously recalled and destroyed over a denied sample of a song by The Cars, forcing a last-minute re-recording and adding a unique chapter to its history.
