Originally intended to be their major-label debut before industry disputes derailed the release, the album finalized the band's transition into highly groove-oriented extreme metal. Shedding much of their early grindcore speed, the compositions prioritize massive, hard-rocking riffs and clearer vocal delivery. Released posthumously after the group's initial disbandment, it cemented the blueprint for the death 'n' roll subgenre.
