Album Notes & Community Reviews
Carlo Maria Giulini's studio recording of 'Mahler: Das Lied von der Erde' pairs mezzo soprano Brigitte Fassbaender and tenor Francisco Araiza with the Berliner Philharmoniker. Mahler was a composer Giulini recorded selectively, limiting himself to the First and Ninth Symphonies alongside this work, and he returned to it with the same soloists in a live Salzburg performance with the Vienna Philharmonic in August 1987.
