Album Notes & Community Reviews

The Norwegian black metal veterans incorporate a noticeably punk-inflected groove and unconventional instrumentation, including saxophone, into their second studio effort. 'Strange Old Brew' balances freezing, traditional tremolo picking with morbidly sardonic themes and dark industrial sampling. This sonic shift helped define the subgenre of black 'n' roll while retaining the group's fiercely misanthropic core.
