Album Notes & Community Reviews

Recorded in the exact same raw, impromptu basement sessions as her debut 'Dear Sir', Chan Marshall's sophomore release embraces a deeply abrasive, dissonant approach to indie folk. Accompanied by Sonic Youth's Steve Shelley and Two Dollar Guitar's Tim Foljahn, the lethargic, feedback-drenched instrumentation provides a turbulent, minimalist backdrop. Marshall's emotionally volatile and unpolished vocal performances command complete attention amidst the lo-fi chaos.
