Album Notes & Community Reviews

Recovering from a near-fatal bout with tuberculosis, the artist drastically stripped back his early orchestrated pop sound in favor of intimate acoustic arrangements. The sessions introduced his long-term partnership with producer Paul Samwell-Smith and guitarist Alun Davies, establishing the deeply reflective, pastoral style that would define his most successful era.
