Album Notes & Community Reviews

Crucially positioned during the golden era of European doom metal, 'Solar Lovers' showcases Celestial Season expanding their incredibly heavy, melancholic foundation with lush string arrangements. The Dutch ensemble masterfully balances crushing death-doom riffs with soaring violin melodies and highly poetic, romanticized lyricism. The record notably hints at the groovier, stoner-metal direction the band would fully embrace on subsequent releases.
