Album Notes & Community Reviews

Denton, Texas quartet Centro-matic, led by songwriter Will Johnson with Matt Pence, Scott Danbom and Mark Hedman, play a scorched, lo-fi indie rock inflected by heartland rock and Southern soul on 'All the Falsest Hearts Can Try'. Johnson's grainy tenor and the band's collapsing choruses give the record its character: bar-band dynamics recorded with deliberate roughness.
