Album Notes & Community Reviews

The legendary 'Barefoot Diva' achieved massive international acclaim with this remarkably pristine, deeply melancholic collection of traditional Cape Verdean morna. Supported by exceptionally lush, acoustic instrumentation featuring cavaquinhos, violins, and clarinets, her incredibly rich, profoundly sorrowful vocal delivery takes complete center stage. The globally celebrated recording earned her a Grammy nomination and firmly cemented her status as the absolute premier ambassador of her country's musical heritage.
