Cesária Évora, the Cape Verdean singer known internationally as the barefoot diva, recorded 'São Vicente di Longe' in the morna tradition named for her home island of São Vicente. Sung in Cape Verdean Creole, its acoustic, traditional arrangements carry the longing central to morna.
